Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions outlined below apply to all orders placed on smithstv.co.uk, this includes any orders placed online or telephone. By purchasing you are agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Order processing

Once an order has been placed we will send an order acknowledgement to confirm that we have received your order and one of our team will be processing the order. Acceptance of an order is only confirmed when the goods have been dispatched from our warehouse. We reserve the right to cancel any order prior to dispatch, if this is the case we will refund your payment in full.

Website accuracy

Please be aware than even though a delivery day may have been selected this delivery day is due to stocking and availability, while we endeavour to keep our site updated with our stocking quantities sometimes this information can be inaccurate. If this is the case we will inform you of the the products availability and either offer a full refund or an alternative product. All the dimensions provided on our site are as accurate as possible. Please be aware that the information stated is provided directly from the manufacturer, these dimensions are only approximate.


Return and faulty goods policy

Items purchased can be returned to one of our stores or through our head office customer services team. Returns and exchanges can only be processed with proof of purchase.

Unwanted products

Unwanted products can be returned if you notify us within 14 days from the date of delivery or collection. The item must include all original packaging, in 'as new' condition and unused. You will also be responsible for the cost of any return carriage, this includes cancelling your order when it's out for delivery. There may also be a re-stocking fee applied for any items which have been opened. If you wish to discuss any of your options with us please give us a call so we can confirm these with you.

Faulty products

If your product develops a fault, you have the option of a repair, exchange or refund if the fault occurs within 30 days of delivery or collection. If the fault with your product occurs within its guarantee period (normally 12 months from delivery) we will offer you a prompt repair service. In all cases we reserve the right to inspect the product and verify the fault. All original packaging must be retained for a minimum of 30 days from date of receipt in case the product needs to be returned for any reason (excluding large kitchen appliances).

Obviously we can’t be expected to guarantee against misuse, accident, neglect, commercial use, loss of data stored on any form of writeable/ rewriteable media/ hard drive devices, dead pixels of an amount not covered by the manufacturer’s specifications or normal wear and tear. Please note that if repairs are not carried out by ourselves or a manufacturer authorised agent our guarantee cannot apply and will invalidate any remaining warranty. This warranty is in addition to your normal statutory rights.

Damaged products

If your product is found to be damaged when unpacked, you must notify us within 48 hours of receipt of the goods. All original packaging and contents must be retained for a minimum of 30 days from date of receipt in case the product needs to be returned for any reason (excluding large kitchen appliances).

When you receive your goods please open the box and examine them before signing to ensure they are in good condition, if the packaging or item is damaged please do not accept the goods and notify us as soon as possible. If you are unable to check the item at the time of delivery, please sign as unchecked. Once items are delivered we allow 48 hours to check your purchase for damage and report any issues, we cannot accept claims or returns for damage after 48 hours of delivery. Regrettably if items are signed for in good condition that later prove to be damaged, we have no recourse with the carriers so please check items thoroughly to avoid any disappointment. On receipt of the return item we will check the packaging and contents if it is without any part of the original packaging or contents we reserve the right to deduct the cost of this from any refund you may receive. In the result of a failed collection we reserve the right to charge for any costs incurred.

Cancelling an order

If you wish to cancel an order before delivery please contact your store, or for online orders email sales@smithstv.co.uk or telephone 01704 531854. Once we have received your request, we will contact you to confirm cancellation.

We reserve the right to charge in full for any failed or missed delivery without prior notification and subsequent redelivery costs.


Price Match Promise


  • We do not offer price promise from market place auction sites such as Ebay, or retailers that charge a membership fee.
  • Price match includes the competitor’s delivery price.
  • We only price match against reputable online retailers in the UK.
  • Price match only applies to products purchased online. In-store purchases do not qualify.
  • The product on our competitor's site has to be identical to the product on our site and offered on the same terms, including warranty length.
  • The product must be in stock and available for delivery within 7 days from the competitor.
  • Price match doesn’t cover bundles or multi-product transactions.
  • We are unable to offer price matching for products purchased on finance.
  • Any website pricing errors on either smithstv.co.uk or the competitor's website are excluded from the price match.
  • We can’t match a price if our company would make a loss in doing so.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw our price match promise at any time.
  • Smiths TV decision will be final on any claims made under our price match promise.

Price matches can only be requested before purchase, or if the purchase has already been made, up to and including the day of delivery. To request a price match, please email sales@smithstv.co.uk or telephone 01704 531854.



Any warranties provided with our products are provided on the proviso that the product will be used for domestic purposes only, we are unable to supply any warranties for commercial use. All orders are made in line with current UK law, this includes the Distance Selling Regulations and also the Sale Of Goods Act. If you require further information on either of these legislations please contact us.



Installation and Recycling

If installation is available in your area it will be offered at checkout. We are able to install free standing appliances such as washing machines dishwashers and dryers. All installations are done to existing services no additional plumbing or electrical work will be carried out. Currently we are unable to install integrated items nationwide. If you would like us to recycle your old machine we can do for a small price. This will also be offered at checkout if available and is done on a like for like basis.

For home entertainment products we ask that you keep the packaging for 30 days after delivery for transportation purposes in case of any return needed due to fault.


Large Item Delivery

When purchasing a large appliance such as an American Fridge Freezer or Range Cooker, please ensure that you have measured the relevant doorways in your home to make sure that the product can be delivered into the room of your choice (ground level only). 

We are unable to dismantle an appliance to make it fit through doorways, for example removing the doors off an American fridge freezer. If delivery is refused for this reason, you will incur an additional delivery charge and the actual cost of distribution will be charged to you. 

If there are access difficulties which prevent our drivers from delivering the goods into your property, then you can always request that we drop the items off outside, or into a garage, for you to take inside yourself at your own convenience.


Changing Delivery Date

If you would like to change the delivery date please contact us or the carrier at least one working day before delivery to allow time to change this. We reserve the right to charge in full for any failed or missed delivery without prior notification and subsequent redelivery costs. Due to the nature of the products that we deliver we are unable to offer a "leave safe" or "leave with neighbour" option. Please note that we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivering goods.
